Hi there, I've just got my new blackberry bold but after receiving a load of emails, I have a "1 new email" symbol at the top.

I can't find the new email however, i've searched the folders including browser and wap messages, also searched for unread emails but still get nothing?  Where else could it be??  It's REALLY annoying me!

Hi,

That is usually followed by the battery pull, but try this first"

on the BB GO/OPTIONS/SECURITY click to enter go to FIREWALL.

Click and press menu. select reset all counts.

No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.

Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed, Thanks

hey!  Thanks for the reply... neither of them things worked though...  My firewall status is disabled too, is that normal?  All my 'block incominging message' settings are unticked too.

I had this same problem and your idea of taking out the battery while my Blackberry was on worked for me. I waited a minute, then put the battery back in and let it reboot. When it came back on the message indicator was gone. Problem solved. Thanks a lot. I was going crazy trying to find that message.

I have the same issue... with an unread message, with a browser icon.

Tried all I could figure out with no success: several battery pulls; check and check and check for any unreads in the messages, including the saved messages folder, emptying out of the browser's caches (content, Pushed Content and Cookie), as well as the suggestions given earlier in this posting.... no success.

It's just a little annoying.

Any more things we could check?

I had this same problem, the reset counter did not work; however, the removing the battery while my Blackberry was on worked fine for me.  I waited the advised minute, then replaced the battery back and let it reboot.

When it came back on the message indicator was gone. Problem solved!

Many thanks the message symbol was driving me mad as I had tried all sorts of things to remove it.
