Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can assist trying to set up personal hotspot to do wifi tethering via this device and just dont know where to start?
Any ideas or advise appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, however in the connections settings on the 9790n "mobile hotspot" is not listed. I understand this is due to the 9790 being blackberry version 7.0. Mobile hotspot was not introduced until version 7.1.
On my 9900 handset (version 7.1), "mobile hotspot" is listed and works but not on the 9790s (version 7.0).
We have tried updating the software up from 7.0 but the handset replies that it is already up to the latest version.

The Mobile Hotspot feature is available only with BlackBerry® Device Software 7.1. The availability of BlackBerry® Device Software updates is determined by your wireless service provider. I would suggest contacting them for more information on available updates.

Sorry am I being a bit daft but on your website the 9790 doesnt show as ready for 7.1?

Sorry for the late reply, the customer has advised that they are trying to do this via the handset and it advises this is on the latest version of software so is this determined by the network they are on if they arent using a wireless provider to update to version 7.1?

The availability of BlackBerry® Device Software updates is determined by the original wireless service provider the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9780 smartphone was branded to. The availability of the Mobile Hotspot feature is also dependant on the wireless service provider and the data plan.
