I recently upgraded from a Blackberry 8820 to a Bold 9700. I have a persistent email indicator on the home screen with a number '1' next to it. All mail in my messages folder are marked as 'read'. When I receive a new message, the indicator increments. So if I get one new message the indicator reports '2'. After I read the new message the indicator report (incorrectly) that I have "1" unread message.
I suspect that this phantom email indication is a consequence of the transition from one device to the other. Any ideas how to resolve the matter? That is, how can I get rid of the incorrect indicator showing that I have "1" unread message?
