Problem with Blackberry 9700

I own a blackberry 9700 for less than 2 years. Now I am facing a problem where whenever i charge my phone, the battery and the phone gets really hot. And the battery is not charging at all. I sent it to one of the phone retail store for servicing but  they end up telling me that there is something wrong with my phone hardware. So is this the end of my blackberry bold? or is there any solution?

So did they offer to replace your phone?  You have a one-year warranty which includes repair or replacement.  If they can't repair it, they're supposed to replace it.

Before going that route, you might want to try reloading your OS.  Reloading the phone's OS will give it a fresh start and might solve your issue.  To do this, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has connected, click Device at the top of the software then Restore.  Pick the most recent restore point and reload it.

Let us know if that helps you.  :smileyhappy:

Re: Problem with Blackberry 9700

Sorry for replying late but I have already tried the restore method but it seems that it is not working. Besides, I purchase a new battery cause it says my previous battery seems to be "dead". Unfortunately, it heats up the battery and the phone too.  I checked on the warranty and unfortunately, it expired at May 2012. So there is no way I could bring it for a replacement or repair. Is there any alternative that I can try?
