My Device: Blackberry Bold 9790
My Carrier: i don't know

Problem with my blackberry ID..

I have installed the new BBM on iphone just to try it, i entered the same email i'm using with my blackberry in the iphone information, i didn't know that it will switch all the data from my other phone, anyway it didn't move my BBM contacts or anything.

when i tried to chat with my friends on my blackberry 9790, it started to ask me for my ID password, i entered the password and an error message occured ( Enter an email that is associated with this smart Phone ) that made me angry, cause i had the right email put in and the one i'm using for the last 3 years. i thought to change the account information from the iphone and by doing that it made the erro message show on the blackberry that my ID is not associated with the phone anymore. Therefore i formated my phone after backing up the files on the computer, but the first problem is that when i finished the format i tried to restore the files it does restore everything but the bbm contacts, another Error message shows on the blackberry desktop manger.

When i try to restore from the blackberry protect on the phone, it shows that i dont have any saved files. "Empty"

how come and i backup my files daily..... Please help me i'm really irritated and fed up of trying everything i know...

Please use plain text.

Re: Problem with my blackberry ID..

So a couple of question for clarity:

  • At this point does BBM work on your 9790, can you add a contacts, send or receive a BBM message ON the 9790?
  • Your BBM contacts would be tied to the BBID of the device, not the restore from Protect. So, when you use the BBID on another device, your BBM contacts should be migrated to the new device with the BBID.
  • I don't know about your 'saved' files. What saved files? Where they saved, in the device memory or media card?
