Problems with 9900 and Email dissapearing when read in outlook BIS user

Hello all,

 

Hopefully somebody has encountered this problem and has a resolution.

 

I am a BIS user on Orange in the UK and use GMAIL as my private email account.

 

Messages are delivered to my 9900 ok, and I can read them fine.  However, when I go to my PC and open Outlook and the messages are recieved there, when I next open email on the BB they no longer display.

 

If I send a message from either outlook or the 9900 they remain on both the PC and 9900!

 

Thus all that appears on the 9900 is SENT emails and not received when I have downloaded the emails into outlook.

 

I have checked Options->Message Display and Actions and Hide filed messages and Hide Sent messages are both UNCHECKED.

 

Also in Inbox Management my email account is CHECKED

 

This was never a problem with my 9000 but is a real pain on the 9900 as I need to retain all emails on both devices for professional reasons.

 

Please can somebody assist me with the issue?

Hello ukracer1,

 

To confirm - Are the message only removing from the BlackBerry when after your open your email client? How do you have you Gmail configured on your computer currently? It sounds like the mail client may be deleting messages from the mail server.

Hello FozzieBear,

 

Yes! the messaged dissapear from the Blackberry when I open outlook and outlook recieves the emails from the gmail account.  The only messages which remain on the Blackberry are sent messages.

 

As for the outlook settings.  In Internet Email Settings -> Advanced Settings - Delivery.  

 

I have Leave a copy of the messages on the server Checked

and remove from the server when deleted from 'Deleted Items' is also checked.

 

I have attached an image of the settings tab for reference.

It seems as though the account is behaving as if messages are still being deleted from the server. As a test you may want to remove the account from Microsoft Outlook to see if you still continue to experience the issue.

 

If the issue no longer occurs, you know it is related to the account being accessed from Microsoft Outlook and will need to investigate as to what is happening.
