Does anyone know if this is a recurring thing or why it happens? Because it happened to me, then I reloaded everything and got it working again, then it's done it to me twice because when I restart it goes to reload software then either 507 or 552 thanks

Same thing happened to me. Desktop manager would not even detect my device.

 

I used the desktop manager to downgrade the OS, and then upgraded again. Seemed to work.

I have had the "Reload Software: 552" error on 2 BlackBerry Curve 8900s.

 

When it occurred again (last night) this is what I did:

 

[ WARNING! THIS WORKED FOR ME,

BUT I WAS LUCKY & IT MIGHT NOT WORK

FOR YOU! ]

 

1.  Reboot your BB:

alt-rightShift-del

 

2.  Start a software reload from the Windows desktop,

via the BB Desktop Manager.

 

When the reload started, I would get a screen on my

BB showing 2 computers talking to each other.  After

a few seconds, this would crash into the 552 error.

 

3.  3-5 seconds into the software reload, CANCEL the desktop.

 

4.  This should freeze the apps on both the desktop and

the BB.  The BB should still be showing the 2-computers.

 

If you do anything on the desktop at this point, the BB

will crash into the 552 error again.

 

5.  Terminate the desktop app processes via the Windows

task manager.  There are 4 RIM/BB processes to shut down.

 

6.  At this point, the BB Desktop Manager app should

be gone, and the BB should still show the 2-computers.

 

7.  Now, start the BB desktop manager back up again,

and intitiate the software reload again ...

After trying to update the software on my device I got this error. Blackberry desktop Manager did not see that the device was attatched. This is how I solved the issue on my Blackberry Bold 9000 on AT&T. Note: This worked for me but may not work for you.

 

 

 

1. Open Blackberry Desktop Manager

2. Connect your device using the USB cable.

3. Remove the battery from your device

4. Wait 30 secs for the "Battery Not Installed" Icon to appear on your device

5. With the USB cable connected reinsert the battery and battery cover

6. At this point the Blackberry Desktop Manager "should" recognize your device

7. Follow the instructions here:

ok, i tried it my way but failed miserrably, even took it to service provider. now on puerto rico, when does bb people appear on CLARO, my provider? is internet connection required to fix 552 issue? cause pc wont recognize connection despite being there, my fault, i made no pc updates, etc.
