Howdo,

             first post here!

Blackberry phones are reasonably good i have the bold 9900 but it the OS is full of bugs,heres a few:

Constantly waiting for downloads,timer constantly on the screen

Every time i update it something either goes haywire or i lose something from the phone.

Shows i have a message on the Gmail icon but when i go to check my email the inbox is empty WTF!

The last one is extremely annoying and i'm STILL trying to resolve the issue!

When you've updated, what have you lost from the phone?

check your Saved Messages for the unread gmail message.

one time (not at band camp) i updated my phone and lost all the numbers on the handset, i luckily copied them from my sim card.

As a Gmail/Blackberry user, I would also recommend another area to check for those "unread" messages.  If you use labels and rules, check if you have a filter to automatically archive (or label & archive) certain new messages.  Those would skip your Inbox, but would still show as unread on your device.  Go to Inbox on your device > Menu > Search by > Advanced.  Scroll down to the bottom of the options.  Under "Show", select "Unread only", then "Search".  This will show you any unread messages.

yea, a piece of advice on updating your base operating system on your BlackBerry while at band camp (or anywhere), do a physical backup of your BlackBerry FIRST, using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on your PC.

First job i always do when i plug my phone in is back it up.

I can find the emails using the advance search but STILL when i get an email it STILL doesnt show in the inbox!
