Registering a Bold 9930 in GSM mode

Hi, I'm trying to work with my unlocked Verizon 9930 in Israel with Pelephone. I'm connected (getting the blackberry symbol) and able to browse, use BBM etc. But I cannot get in to the email settings. I get a message that the device is not registered. The carrier was able to activate my email account remotely, but that does not work for me since it would not syncronize.

I was told there is an issue registering the 9930 in GSM mode. Any way to get around that?

are you able to obtain a back up of your service books from a friend?

I have a 8630 working, but I am unfamiliar as to what to do with the service books

You need to call your current service provider first and ask them for APN settings to enable that feature.
