Restoring backup data from old phone to new blackberry

Hi,

My Bold 9700 bold just died. While i was texting a white screen came out and I couldn't turn back on again. the led light keeps flashing.

I have asked my friend to lend me her bb. I have backup data from my damaged blackberry. Can I possibly restore that backup into my new phone without using the bb switching function?

Mang thanks

Yes, you can restore the backup from the old device into a new device.

That's correct.  If the new device is used, I suggest wiping it of the last user's info.  Then just plug it into DM and restore your backup file to it.

Re: Restoring backup data from old phone to new blackberry

If it's fixable it will need the software reloaded.  Do the following:

http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

then:

reload the software from here following the instructions exactly:

Re: Restoring backup data from old phone to new blackberry

I have tried but both softwares BBSAK and JL_Cmder cannot detect my device. The red light keep flashing since yesterday.

Any other alternatives?

Do you know if there is any Blackberry official repair store in the UK at all?

Hello,

Sometimes you just have to be patient...you can try and try and suddenly once it will work. Odd, yes...but the way things are. Also, perhaps this reference will help:

Good luck!
