Please backup your device before you begin.
To get and install 22.214.171.1241 if your carrier has no lilsting for it.

There is a glitch in the 5.0.822 and RIM is 'working on a fix'. Until then, do as advised and backup and downgrade. I had to do it.

I have the same problem with ringtones, if I downgrade software will I still be able to sincronice with outlook 2010? I originally upgraded software in order to do so. Tks

KB18998 on blackberry.com/btsc will also show you how to reset your phone to factory settings on a windows based computer. I have resolved this issue using this troubleshooting step. It has been successful for me. I would recommend performing a backup then a selective restore with address book, memos, calendar, BBM, and tasks only.

Mine was working ok even after upgrade but then one day, it stopped ringing. The only way to make it ring again is to do a software reset or battery pull. But after a while or after you change the ringtone it stops ringing again. Media being played sounds ok.

If it was only the device's OS it would be ok. But, I also have a Torch 9800 and cannot downgrade my Desktop Manager Software only to fix a sound problem with another model.
There must be another way.

They finally released the new version with the patch i guess. I installed OS 126.96.36.1990 and everything seems to be working fine - I fidled around with the sounds for a few days and no issues.
FINALLY geeez...WTH took so **bleep** long!!

I agree about the "BLEEP", but I can't find this new update -- when I check for updates, it is nowhere -- where/how did you get this?
