SIM Card Rejected

I have a Blackberry Bold 9780 and it says my SIM card is rejected and can only make SOS calls.  I have spoken with T-mobile about this and they say the problem has probably been caused by me changing my password and making several attempts to key in the p/w and therefore the phone rejecting it.

 

The upshot is I have to get a new SIM card.  I have hundreds of text messages on my phone from someone special and so will they be lost on getting a new SIM card?  I have saved them, but I presume they have been saved to the phone rather than the SIM card?

I did a very simple thing and switched the phone on and off and hey presto, it is now fine and working again.  It is a shame the guy at T-mobile didn't offer that advice!

Text messages are usually saved to the device, not the sim card.

The SIM card rejected message is usually a bad sim card. Even though you got it working I would definitely get it replaced as soon as possible or you may end up without service when/if it happens again.

Glad to hear that texts are saved to the phone, that is a relief!

 

I will see how it goes over the next day or so and if it does it again, then I will be heading for the T-mobile shop!
