Spotify draining resouces of a flagship BB - how?

I now use Spotify.  Genius app that I was suggested to you last night.

So this morning, after a restart of my phone ( see a previous thread of mine here about that ), I used it.

I just noticed, an hour after stopping it playing, that I had the little white and wiggly line icon at the top.  It says "Application resource minor message: ".... has detected that the following application was draining Blackberry resouces at 07:57."

How on earth is it doing that?It wasn't running at that time.  And how, with nothing else actually started up on the phone, is it already draining resources.

For a device like 8820, or that level of BB, I can maybe understand, but not on my Bold 9900.

Did the App Resource monitor only appear an hour later after you closed Spotify, or you just didn't notice earlier?

Could be that Spotify was not completely closed and some module was still running and draining the battery.

I hadn't closed it. Well, I had hit "end" to return to homescreen, but hadn't officially gone to "log out".

But since nothing else 'extra' was running, I didn't think it would matter. Nor thought it 'should' matter, considering the processing is over 1ghz.

That's the reason. Running it in the background foes consume unnecessary resources. Good that it notifies you.

I guess it's good that it closes apps not being used. I just don't need some warning about it. Tho I think I can turn of fits warning.
