Startup crash

So I got a new BB bold yesterday and while I was transferring data from my old phone to my new BB using bluetooth, thing crashed. Did not seem to be much of a problem at first untill I found out that, after I had removed the battery, the thing would just show me the clock thingy loading screen, which then stops running smoothly and eventually I get a white screen. It's been like that for the past 8 hours and I am at my wits end.

What the hell is going on with my brand new phone and what can I do about it?

Re: Startup crash

Has anyone got any ideas on what to do? A few days later I am still stuck with a blank screen.

Re: Startup crash

I'd recommend trying to reload the OS on the phone. however seeing as since you just purchased the Bold, you can always take it back to your carrier since it's been less than 30 days since you bought it. If you want to try reloading the OS post back

Re: Startup crash

I'm interested. How do you reload the OS, does it involve a long and arduous process? (if so, just say so and save yourself alot of typing; I prefer to fix it myself but if it's alot of hassle I'll just go to the store)

Re: Startup crash

No problem at all. The steps are as follows:

First download and install the Desktop Manager from here (5.0.1 without Media Manager is recommended): https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Next download and install the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Afterwards try reloading the OS by connecting the device to your computer, open the Desktop Manager, then go into the Application Loader. This will open a wizard that steps you through reloading the OS onto your device. More detailed steps can be found in here:
