Ok... so now to deal with the built in media storage.

Are you also deleting the videos after copy off to the PC and to DropBox?

Those videos take up a ALOT of space.

I want you to, on your device, go to the Media panel and press the Menu key > Explore.

Choose the "Memory Use" and let it scan.

  • What are the numbers/percent for the Built-In media storage there?
  • And press the details button... what is there?

I hope I've done the right thing.

Here's what it says.

Built in Media Storage  6.2GB

total free 1% 288.0KB

Total used: 99% 6.2GB

Under "details"

Music: 1% 78.5MB

Pictures: <1% 8.8MB

Documents: <1% 21.9MB

Other: 98% 6.1GB

Free: <1% 288.0KB

That's the problem. What is your 'other'?

Go to your Media Panel > Menu key > Explore.

You will see "Media Card" and "Device".

Go to Device > Home > User.

Now, you will look in each and every folder and try to find what is taking the space. Could be Podcasts if you use those. Voicenotes, etc.   Look and see what you can find.

To make this easier I've taken screenshots of what's in all these folders to let you see for yourself and to save me typing out each and every item.

Hope this helps.

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

It appears to me your Music sync folder, that you have a LOAD of music files.

Those should be deleted or synced to your PC and/or put on your media card.

That's a lot of music and is what's consuming your on-device media memory.

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

I have deleted all my music folders, totalling 78.4MB

I've done this again and here are the new figures...

Built in media storage 6.2GB

Total Free 2%   80.0MB

Total Used: 98%   6.2GB

Details

Music <1% 76.2KB

Pictures <1% 8.8MB

Documents <1% 21.9MB

Other 98% 6.1GB

Free 1% 80.0MB

I'd say from the above that something else is the problem. Any ideas? I've deleted everything that was under Music/Media Sync.

Is it the QRCode stuff and the AppWorld stuff? Seems to be a lot of that?

Please help. :Helpsmilie:

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

Yea, could be, judging from just the one or two screen shots, it doesn't look like that much stuff in those appworld folders.

I think there's something greater here we're missing.

So you've deleted all that music since those screenshots were captured?

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

yup, as far as I can tell.

the music files were only KB not MB or GB like the other files.

the apps FX has

Audio 76.6kb

Picture 9.7kb

Video 0bytes

app.log 3kb

app.persist 1kb

default.store 1kb

misc.persist 1.kb

Appworld seems to have 13.0MB

Where else can I look?

Is there music elsewhere? I've deleted all the folders from the screen shot.
