Woke up this morning to a strange condition on my Bold. Everything works fine except 3 pretty important functions:
1) Green phone call button
2) Red phone hangup button including holding down for power off
3) Trackball push for enter (scrolling works fine)
I've tried resetting the device by removing the battery.
Anyone seen this? Ideas?
I'm running v18.104.22.168 (patform 22.214.171.124)

Similar issue here. Today, the red call/power, trackball enter, and "A" buttons stopped working. Completely random. No trauma to the phone, didn't get it wet. Removed the battery, and still the issue persists.

I spent better part of a day working with AT&T tech support and ultimately RIM. Reloaded software, reset device to factory default. Ultimately could not bring those keys back to life. I really did not want to RMA the Bold as it was only 6 weeks old and I wasn't keen on a factor refurb. However ultimately that was the only choice. Nice outcome however. The factory refurb was perfect - no scratches, dings or other physical blemishes. I reloaded all my apps and PIM stuff...no repeat of the issue.

I have the same problem, I did hard reset, wipe, batt pull out, new OS, evrything but nothing works, does anybody have a clue what the problem is, I can not belive is hardware since all of those with the same issue have the same key code problems, a become UO, not enter in the trck ball, end becomes NM and so on........ so should it be a recall if it is hardware? I really want to solve this it become more of a challenge now than actually just a cellphone problem.
Any ideas would help

My partner's BB had the same issue with the 'a' key and the trackball not working.
Along with a boot rom issue when trying to update the OS
Its now gone back to T-mobile for repair.
