Still no official announcements have been made, but we have heard news from a number of resources that BlackBerry Bold 9700, on T-Mobile, has already received BlackBerry OS 6. The update for this smartphone are not yet live on the website while the 9700 owners who are connecting their phones to BB desktop via the PC are able to download. This recently released version of BB is 6.0.0.448, and is the first version of OS 6, which has been made available to Bold users via T-Mobile. Moreover, keep in track of us to know more what is in store with this version of BB OS 6!

Can I install the actual version from Telus Mobility? It is multilingual.

Can I use the enterprise activation after the upgrade, too? I have misgiving that it doesn't work because it isn't from my carrier?

Yes until your carrier releases it, they won't give you support but everyone here will help you!

I also have a T-Mobile USA BB 9700, and I installed OS6 from BB and am not happy with some of the results. Significant changes to the menus, and now I cannot scroll left or right in the Calendar daily view (which makes the Calendar a hassle). Also, when I synch from Outlook, any mulit-day events become multiple single-day events of 24 hours on the Blackberry. I am still finding new issues daily and am not impressed with 6.0.0.448. For what it's worth.

Hello All,

I have just joined the community!

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 with T-Mobile.  I would like to install OS 6 and I know that I can install the release from any provider.  But before I do that, I have a question.

Can I download the "T-Mobile_BlackBerry_9780_6.0.0.285.exe" from the T-Moble BB Upgrade website and install it on my 9700?  Would that work?  Or would you advise me to install the OS 6 for 9700 from Telus?  Please let me know.

Shur: yes you could install that, but its not the latest version.
Here is the latest version of OS6 for everyone!
Manual device OS upgrade instructions:
1. First, download from this link: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0&dl=...
 
2. Do a FULL backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry.
 
3. Save the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
 
4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
 
5. use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup)
then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed)
 
6. remove internet connection to PC and reboot PC.
 
7. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

I do use a PC, but as I use a Mac as well I wonder why RIM has not provided with a Mac compatible installer yet!
