The center bar just under the clock

What is the purpose of the bar and how do we change the way it displays information? I certainly do not want other people to see ALL the information stored there. As I understand it, there's no way to delete the information displayed. Can someone help with a solution??

Re: The center bar just under the clock

Could you give more detail of what you don't want other people to see?

And for that, just password lock your BlackBerry... no one sees anything.

Re: The center bar just under the clock

Don't want people to see the most active numbers for calling and texting. I deleted them but they still show up on the bar. password locking could be an option, but still doesn't stop people tryng to pry for information.

Btw, how long will they store the information on the bar?? Does it clear by itself after several days??

Re: The center bar just under the clock

You can hit the menu key and hide that screen, rather having it show.

And with the device password locked... no one will be able to pry. They can try, but they will fail.

Re: The center bar just under the clock

Tried hitting the menu key (bb key), 3 options came up: option; switch apps; help. So how do you hide it? Would really love this blackberry if it does..
