I've had my 9650 for about six months, now all of a sudden, the trackpad doesn't scroll. It works perfectly fine if I press it, but it is not scrolling. I've tried the battery pull and that didn't work. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hello,
How long did you leave the battery out? If, like me, it was quick, then I suggest leaving it out for at least 10 minutes and trying again. I know, it makes no sense...but sometimes it makes a difference.
Beyond that, what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? A new Theme? An update? The smallest thing could be causal, so think carefully about it.
Good luck!

I tried leaving it out for a couple of minutes. I wasn't really doing anything. I was walking to the gym at work looking at Facebook, then set it down in my locker while I changed. Once I got on the treadmill, I wanted to open up Pandora and that was when I noticed that it didn't work.
I'll try and pull the batter for about 10 min to see if that helps.

I pulled the battery for 15 minutes, and am still having the same issue.

Hmmm...too bad. Then there are only three things I can think of.
1) OS corruption, requiring a reload. I somewhat doubt this one since you say you were doing nothing that would have introduced this (e.g., new app install, update, etc.) when the behavior started. Nevertheless, it's probably worth a shot...especially when you read my next theory...
2) Moisture Damage. Given the environment it was in, it is possible that enough moisture finally entered the unit, causing enough corrosion that has caused this.
3) Defect. Sometimes, defects just take a while to manifest. You would need to take it in for formal warranty evaluation to be sure. If, however, they discover that my moisture theory is true, they will likely refuse you warranty support.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't around any moisture of any kind so I don't think that will be an issue. I was hoping maybe there was a quick fix so I didn't have to take it in to an Alltel store (which is about 2.5 hrs away). Maybe I'll stop in at Verizon to see if they can help.

Well, IMHO...Locker Room/Gym = Moisture potential.
You can try the OS reload yourself...
From a PC, you can install any OS package to a BB via this procedure:
Note that while written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
Good luck and let us know!

Nothing ended up working. I took it to the retailer and they said I need to get a new one. So they are supposed to be sending another phone within 2-5 business days. Which in the mean time, I still cannot really access anything. I've looked, but I don't see any shortcuts for up, down, left, right or moving up/down to view emails and/or text messages, or moving to a different app. Gonna start another thread for better searching later.
