Transfering data between devices when the old device has been lost

Is it possible for me to transfer data from my old device which is saved on my laptop?

I no longer have the old device because it was stolen but I do have a back up saved.

I have tried to use the switch devices option but I keep getting a message that says,

"reconncect your old device".

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

 

Yup, the device switch wizard requires the old device. So, what to do is a restore, using the backup file you have as the source of restore:
