Transferring data to a new blackberry

Hi, I've got a blackberry 9780 and have upgraded to a 9790, I know to get all my messages, contacts etc I need to back up my phone and restore it onto my new one, but I was wondering do I need to add my email accounts before I restore my messages (this includes e-mails) onto my new phone?

Thank you

Here are some good guides:

Re: Transferring data to a new blackberry

That did help, but neither links said anything about setting up my hotmail and outlook accounts.

Yes step 2:

http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB23677&sliceId=2&cmd=displayKC&d...

or you can do this to setup email:

From the device go to blackberry.com/integrate
and see if you can setup your email from there.

Re: Transferring data to a new blackberry

Thanks for all the advice, I used the switch device option in blackberry desktop manager and it pretty much did it all for me, the only thing I had to do was activate my email accounts from the email setup menu, didn't realize this until I tried sending an email and it wouldn't go through,

Thanks again.
