UK Sim free Bold, warranty, repair help! Going round in circles on Blackberry website.

I purchased a Bold in May this year UK sim free. I love the phone. This morning the display decided to go white then become a mass of coloured lines and has remained this way. The casing nor the physical screen are cracked or broken.

I'm starting to pull my hair out as I can not find out how to get this repaired. I contacted the shop I purchased the phone from but it's down to blackberry to sort out. Surely this is under warranty and blackberry/RIM should repair the device?

 

Any advice would be very welcome......

All warranty service is provided by the carriers and authorized resellers...RIM does not directly provide warranty work. The carrier/reseller must do what they need to do and then they must escalate to RIM in order for costs to not be incurred by you. If you go around them and try to go direct to RIM, you are bypassing your warranty contract and thereby would incurr costs -- this is the nature of the warranty contracts between RIM and the carriers/resellers as well as between them and the end users. So, you should contact them back and find out how THEY are going to escalate to RIM for you.

exactly the same thing has happened to me and i purchased the phone in May2011, please inform me what you have done!
