UNABLE TO SEND OR RCEIVE MMS ON BOLD

Have checked with Optus and they say the settings are correct. can make calls, s/r emails s/rSMS but unable to s/r MMS

 

When I go to send the BB Clock just sits there. have left it for an hour with no result. Any ideas?

have you got a data service? what does your signal show... gprs, edge, gsm...3g?

your account needs to have a data plan and service books pushed to the handset.

I have the same problem.  Sometimes the messages will go through and sometimes they just sit there for hours with the clock icon.  YES I HAVE A DATA PLAN.  It is unlimited.  So is my messaging plan.  It occurs even when there is a full 3G signal.  I tried calling AT&T about it and they barely knew how to move around the phone.  They sent me over to RIM tech support and they knew less about the device than the AT&T guys.  I wish someone out there would acknowledge this problem.

I fixed this issue about 2 mins ago for someone.

 

The MMS is sitting on the hourglass.

 

Make sure the device is not plugged into anything, turned on, then pull the battery out. Without turning it off first!

 

Put the battery back in and tried to send a new blank MMS to yourself.

 

Let me know if this works, otherwise, are you connected to a Blackberry Enterprise Server within your company? it could be an It policy to restrict it.

Wow, that was a fast response.  I just got it working for now by doing the battery pull but I did turn the device off first, so if it happens again I'll definitely try it your way.  It seems that this time it disabled my email boxes too, it didn't do that last time.  When I turned it back on I got two Activation emails per mailbox as though I had just set them up.  So it seems like the problem is escalating. 

 

In regard to the Enterprise server, I'm not on one.  It's my personal device.  Thanks for all your input.  I bet I'll get a chance to try the battery pull with the power on since this is a recurring problem.

I try the steps ,but its not working on bold 9700 ? but im able to receive mms now ,but only issue when im trying to send out ,any futher assistant on this?

yesss i try to send mms but in the top right hand corner there is supposed to be a 3G but mine has a lower case G like this g and when i try to send a mms it has the red **bleep** next to it and never sends. i don't know why this does this but i can't seem to find a reason why

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

 

Lower case g means your BB sees your carrier data network, but is not properly attached to it. Please try the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now



2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service



3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

 


Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your carrier for formal support.
