Okay this is how it goes i guess...
first type in your email
then write a wrong password.. then sign in....
it will say 2/10 tries right?
okay now type in your right password then sign in..

Tried that but no luck. It recognizes I put in a wrong password (3/10 in my case) but when i try the correct one it still says Unable to login to your BlackBerry ID account.
Appreciate everyone's help but I'm taking it back to the store today.

Unfortunately, the guys who are saying you have to security wipe it, are correct. Just remember to back everything up before you do it. Then set everything up again and it works and connects.......

According to knowledge base article KB28212:
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
KB28212 goes on to state that the only workaround currently available is to backup and restore to factory settings.

A level 3 RIM tech finally managed to sort it out for me.
After several days of calls with them, a few dozen factory resets and a replaced phone... they did something strange like logging onto my BB ID account from another phone and having me log in at the same time to debind from my account.
Either way it worked !

hi dear, had the same problem but solved it easily, fist off all u need to wipe ur bb then reinstall it will work promise u this, was suffering for 2 months this problem. just wipe it then u it works for sure, done the same now its working with me .. try it u lose anything dude believe me

Just call RIM support and they'll sort it out.
Best way to do it is call your wireless carrier and then ask them to put you through to RIM tech support (so you don't have to pay).
