Unidentified Subscriber - SMS problem

Hi,I have a Bold 9700 and I am using it in Vietnam.At the moment I am using it as a phone device only and have not connected the B'berry to my PC.

A couple of weeks ago I have been unable to send SMS messages to certain contacts in my address book and a message appears as "X - Unidentified Subscriber",other sms messages to other contacts are sent with no problems.I guess this must be something to do with my settings regarding network maybe,but having tried to sort this out for the last couple of weeks I have failed badly - Can anyone please help me to sort out this problem ???? many thanks

The issue seems to be related to the Contact, as a test try deleting and recreating, If this does not help contact the user and verify that they are having no issues receiving SMS.

i have the same issue and the contact is my wife, she is able to send me sms but i am unable to reply, and we have the same device, no issues with hers at all..

 

is there any solutions from RIM R&D ? is not, can anyone help please ?

I just bought a 9780 today (in the UK) and have the same problem... can't text (sms) anyone. but have no problem making calls to those same numbers.

I tried rebooting (Alt-right-shift-Del).  Still no joy.

Any ideas?

I solved the problem for BB 9930.
He was the card or the provider settings.
So the problem was that the simulation has lost no phone message center.
Remove the SIM from BB and put it in another phone with the option to message center.
There set on your SIM card's phone number message center, save then restart the phone. Check on that phone if you can send SMS, sure you can.
Remove the SIM card and reinsert it into your phone BB 9930.
Will work.

I recreated the contact and it now sends SMS fine.
