 Verizon tech support was unable to identify the icon (a circle penetrated by an arrow) for a new update waiting in Blackberry App World and the manual was helpful, but solved my problem  Thanks!

Hi everybody,

I'm new to this forum.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 series, and I'm not sure when but I think it's around 3 months ago,

there's suddenly a strange small white joystick-like icon on my home screen, at the very top right next to the speaker/volume on the left corner of the screen.
The problem is I don't know how that icon could suddenly turn up in my home screen but it's been pretty annoying and I want to erase it very badly.

So does anyone know how to erase this strange icon?

I have a new/unknown notification on my screen. It is right beside the "unopened/new email" Icon. The icon is a white rectangle with the round blackberry symbol inside plus it has an exclamation point on it. I have searched all over but can't fine anything new on my phone. I have a Bold 9780, V6

I have the exact same icon and I don't know what it is. Like a little grey email icon with the blackberry logo on top of it. It's really annoying me now.

sounds like a variation of app world red explamation mark possible upgrade go to app world and see if they match

Any idea what the "lock" icon is in the lower right corner of the screen or how to unlock the keypad when the lock button nor pressing the 1 key doesn't work?

on the bold 9700 top of the phne  moves slightly up and  down left key pa lock/unlock

when this happened to me the battery was just so dead it needed a real wall charger to actually charge it up enough to charge. this may sound confusing but i think that when you plug it in the phone tries to boot up but doesn't have enough power. if you use the real one then it suddenly gets past that invisible barrier and has enough to boot. i'm no expert but that's my best guess.
