Update software to 4.6.0.266 fatal error - anyone?

Has anyone had a Fatal Error during upload of the latest version of Blackberry software?

When trying to load the new version of the Blackberry software to my bold it runs through

* Connect to Device - completed
* Backup device data - completed
* Backup third party applications

it seems to crash here with a "Fatal Error has occured while updating your device's software. Please try again. To which I have with the same fatal error message.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

For one, make certain you are connected to your USB to a rear main USB port...not a hub or monitor port.

 

See if that helps.

 

Also--what version of Desktop Manager are you using?

 

Is this an OS file you have downloaded and installed to your PC?

Thanks for that. I have put the USB directly to my laptop and tried again. Unfortunately I got the same Fatal Error message. In watching when the message occurs, It seems that the fatal error happens just after it says "turn the radio on". So I'm not sure what is going on with this. I can't seem to upgrade my hardware.

 

I am using version 4.6 of the Desktop manager and see that there is a v 4.7 which I will download and install tonight and attempt an upgrade again and see how that goes.  Keep you posted.

I would also suggest DM version 4.7, without the Media software,

HI there

 

I have upgraded the desktop software to version 4.7 and made sure that I have logged out of 3rd party software (eg facebook), I have also cleared the browser cache including pushed content and I still get the fatal error message.

  

Any other suggestions?

Try a backup from the Advanced screen of the Desktop Manager - see if it has a problem, and where.

 

Try a battery pull (while the device is on).

 

Only ideas I have...

I finally got it to work. I used another computer with the same desktop version (v4.7) and it seemed to upgrade the software fine.

incomplete update of my BB bold 9780

Hi !

        I tried to update the software of my blackberry bold 9780, but the computer had shut down before that the update was complete, now nothings shows up on my phone screen exept the red light ! 

Pleaaaaaaaaaase help me !
