Re: V 7.1 post installation issues

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please re-check your "space left" reading...for what you describe, only AppMemory matters...no other reading is relevant to what you describe.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: V 7.1 post installation issues

definitely not the issue

on device, percent used is .26% or 16.9MB out of 6.2GB available.

If that is AppMemory, it should be good...but, from "free memory", I cannot tell exactly which reading you are providing. Please provide the step by step commands you execute (starting from the HomeScreen) to obtain that reading. There are several different types of memory, and AppMemory is the only relevant one for this issue.

There is no BB device with 6.2GB of AppMemory...so I remain concerned about which memory reading you are providing...

AppWorld has the ability to display for you both the free and max amount of AppMemory. Inside of MyWorld, if you press the Logo_Blue.gif key and select "Show Available Storage", that will show you the required readings (which should be close to that of "free memory" from the Device information screen, though adjusted for MB vs bytes).

I'm thinking a clean OS wipe/reload will be in order for you, but I want to be sure of your memory readings first...

Re: V 7.1 post installation issues

Ok, found what you're looking for. In app world app properties, memory is now at 154.0KB, max today was 3.4MB, yesterday 4.5MB, max last week 1.3MB

Re: V 7.1 post installation issues

AppWorld properties? I'm not quite positive about where you are getting that.

And, you are seeing the Max change from day to day? That still then concerns me as to exactly where you are seeing these readings, as the max amount of AppMemory is a fixed value, deep in the hardware of the device, and can never change for any reason whatsoever.

For instance, by doing what I said, inside of AppWorld/MyWorld, above in post 6, my BB tells me "146 MB of 512 MB Free"...which means my device has 512 MB of total AppMemory (a value which simply cannot change) with 146 MB of that free at this moment (a value which can fluctuate).
