WPA-2 Enterprise - Success!

Hi all,

The University I study has a WPA-2 encrypted WIFI connection and at one point, I couldn't log onto their connection unless I accessed as a 'guest'.

I had my laptop, which is fully compliant to many if not all Wifi encryptions...

So I found I can log onto the WPA-2 Enerprise connection by the following:

# Setting security type to PEAP

# Enter your username and password

# Set CA certificate to GTE CyberTrust Global Root

# Make sure the Inner link security is set to AUTO

# Not too sure about TOKEN, but I left it clear

# Connection mode is set to Automatic

# And make sure the IP address and DNS are obtained automatically

This is exactly what I got from looking at my already connected laptop, so I copied as it was.

I suppose this mean the Bold 9700 does comply with WPA-2 encryption but you must make changes to the current security types before it will work.

This is primarily because there is no WPA-2 to select/choose from under Security Type when you're creating a new wireless connection; manually.

I hope this work for any of you who could not get it working. I was having to log onto the guest login each time and it always prompted me to enter any email address before being granted access.

P.S. Please let us know if it does work for any of you?

Thanks,

Wasim

Re: WPA-2 Enterprise - Success!

Just to let you know, when your BB has connected to the Wifi connection, by clicking Network Details this gives you details of the connection and actually tells you its a WPA-2 Enterprise!

Re: WPA-2 Enterprise - Success!

I tried doing this but it asked for server subject and server SAN. Did this happen to you? I so, what did you put?
