Hi there,
Could someone help to verify whether ALL of the below scenarios are normal? I have gone through several threads but none seem to describe the below symptoms...
1. With TCP/APN settings left BLANK:
Attempting to play a video on m.youtube.com prompts a switch to WAP for media streaming, then launches the media player, but the video fails to stream/play at all.
2. With TCP/APN settings entered (e.g. "internet", or the carrier-specific APN):
Similarly prompts a switch to WAP streaming, launches the media player, then the BIS status indicator (where the signal strength bars are displayed) GOES OFF, and the video streams/plays successfully.
2A. The BIS status indicator does not return until you exit to the Home Screen:
During this period, web pages do not load, appearing to wait indefinitely. In other words, surfing is unresponsive/slow after exiting a video.
Are these behaviors right or am I missing something?
Handset: BlackBerry Bold on 4.6
Context: Video streaming on 3G (not Wi-Fi)
Browser: Internet Browser
Support Embedded Media: Yes
Browser Identification: BlackBerry
Side question: What does it mean to have to switch to WAP for video streaming? That the data transferred is chargeable in addition to data over BIS?
TIA
S
