Re: Where did my BB app world go??

Hello Permeet

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

First be sure that it is not hidden , for that On your Homescreen press the Menu key and select " Show All Icon " then search within your Homescreen or even search any folder and see if you are able to view it . If you can see it but looks like faded then move your cursor over the icon and press Menu key and click  “ unhide " or Unhide Icon .

If above fails then you should consider reinstalling it , but first delete any existing version Of BlackBerry world from Options > Device > Application Management > locate and delete BlackBerry World from that list .

KB10040  :How to view or remove installed application on a blackberry smartphone

Once deleted perform a battery pull restart by removing the battery while your device is Powered On , wait for a min. then re-insert it back . Finally after reboot use your BlackBerry Browser and browse to www.blackberry.com/appworld/download and download the most recent version available .

Try it and let us know.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Not knowing the full error message, we must guess...here's one guess:

  • KB29613 The error "BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003)" is displayed within BlackBerry App World

Another guess is to remove the Identity app from your BB, then try again and a fresh copy of the Identity app should install:

  • KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on the BlackBerry smartphone

Good luck!

If you can use BBM via your carrier data plan, then you should be able to use it via WiFi. I've only heard of a few carriers that block use of BB-proprietary services via WiFi. Then again, if you don't have a proper BB-level data plan from your carrier, then you can't use BBM at all, for it is a proprietary service, requiring subscription to an adequate data plan.

Good luck!

Re: l have a question

I'm not sure that I understand...but...

If you are NOT subscribed to a data plan, from your carrier, that enables BBM, then you CANNOT use it, even via WiFi.

If you ARE subscribed to a data plan, from your carrier, that enables BBM, then you CAN use it, including via WiFi (unless your carrier is one of those few who block that).

BBM is a BB-proprietary service, requiring payment for a data plan from your carrier that enables it. No payment = no BBM.

Good luck!
