Wi-Fi problems again

Hi Guys,

I am new to Blackberry and i have got a 9000 Bold. I set up my WiFi connection and all was well for a day. Then it stopped going to websites. Everytime it came up with message cannot connect to server when trying to browse via WiFi. i reset my router with no effect. I did a memory wipe on my Bold (can afford to do this now as its only a day old). Now when i try seting up my wifi, it sees the network and allows me to enter pass word etc. But in the radio menu after there is no green tick next to my wifi connection. Just a white hyphen. Can anyone help me with this please?

Re: Wi-Fi problems again

Under "manage connections" select WiFi Options, then hit the menu key and select WiFi Tools. See if that gives you information so that you can better diagnose the issue (or post here to see if someone else can).

Once there, there is also an option to turn Advanced Mode. Might be even more helpful. Since mine is working OK, I can't tell you for sure it will help, but it sure looks promising!

Re: Wi-Fi problems again

It shows me signal strength, AP Mac id. Mac id and ip address. I presume it means the device is connected. But still no green tick. I turned off the mobile network and turned on WiFi alone. When i try browsing, it says, radio not turned on.

Re: Wi-Fi problems again

What version OS do you have? My (Basic) display shows:

Current Profile               myNetwork

SSID                            myNetwork

AP MAC Address          xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Security Type                Pre-Shared Key (PSK)

Local IP Address           192.168.1.100

Signal Level                   -41 dBm

Connection Data Rate    48 Mbps

Status:                         Network acquired

And, that is just the Basic screen!

Re: Wi-Fi problems again

Hi,

My OS version is v4.6.0.216

It shows

Profile name :My network

SSID           : My Network

Security      : WPA - Personal

Signal strength: -61dBm

AP MAC    : XXXX

Device Mac : XXXXXX

Channel       : 11

Network Type       : 802.11b/g

And thats all it shows when i look at the WiFi Profile details.

At the status screen, it gives an IP address.
