I've read both that one can and cannot use wifi without a data plan.
My problem is somewhat different.
I had no trouble with wifi browsing while I had my data plan. I dropped the plan and now, I can connect to my router or hotspots without a problem.
The problem is I can only surf certain web pages. Most give me a server not found type error, but I have no trouble for instance with cnn.com, msnbc.com and several others (no these are not in my cache, they are up to date pages.)
I already deleted my TCP/IP settings, and enable data is ON.
At first I thought it was a DNS problem, but OpenDNS doesn't work, and when I try to connect to my routers "homepage" using it's IP address, it doesn't connect.
