Will the Bold synchronise my PC data?

I have been loaned a Bold 9780.  How do I set it up to do the following please? I don't mind being referred to a manual. I'm looking for the documentation now...

Sychronise MS Outlook data

1) Tasks

2) Calendar

3) Contacts

4) OneNote (would be nice)

Synchronise other data

5) Files

Can the Bold display these?

a) Excel & Word docs

b) PDFs

c) BMPs.

If the phone is reset and synchronised, do outstanding reminders re-appear?

Re: Will the Bold synchronise my PC data?

Hello,

These articles may be of use in your quest:

  • KB03315 How to setup organizer data synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Software
  • KB12268Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows
  • KB11879 What is mass storage mode
  • KB23450 Copy documents to a BlackBerry smartphone using Mass Storage Mode
  • KB29523 How to manually transfer files between a BlackBerry smartphone and a Windows computer
  • KB23443 How to activate Documents To Go Premium Edition for BlackBerry
  • KB15253 Supported native file format attachments in BlackBerry Internet Service

So, please start with those, and then come back with any clarifications you need.

Good luck!

Well, you asked for a lot, and I didn't want to disappoint you! The only thing I know nothing about is OneNote.

Re: Will the Bold synchronise my PC data?

I've been through all this now and am gradually getting the BB to work. It's been a bit of a struggle though and there are outstanding issues that I'm dealing will bit by bit.

For example, I was getting a server error message with no idea about the cause. After a bit of digging it turns out that my carrier (O2) can route my connection to BB services. It activates at midnight. We shall see...
