I just want to report that myself, at least 2 other people on these forums, and numberous people on other forums are unable to access YouTube (m.youtube.com) on their BlackBerry Bold 9700 phones.
It is confirmed that Bell and Rogers Bold 9700 phones are both affected, possibly Telus and others soon to be released in the US and Europe.
Please fix this issue RIM!
Other issues include:
- Unable to connect with bluetooth to other phones
- Unable to access some websites with the mobile browser (hotmail.com, nba.com are known to be affected)
Please fix these issues RIM!
A new OS update would be nice SOONER than LATER. This is my first BlackBerry, don't make me regret my decision to switch from an iPhone to this!

You really need to be talking with your carrier and see what they are blocking.

RIM builds the OS and releases them to the carrier for testing and final release.
Again, you should be lobbying your carrier to release an updated OS.
It's pretty common that it takes two to three weeks after a device launch for the carriers to release an OS upgrade.

All the carriers in Canada are experiencing this issue. I have already talked to technical support and have a ticket with them. When they find a fix for the problem they will contact me, but the technician said it would be a few weeks before an update would be out.
I'm posting here so that RIM knows that people are experiencing these issues, to look into them and help fix them in the next OS release.

So you are certain it is an OS issue?
If so, I think it would affect all users.

Oh look, the OS for the 9700 if you need.
* Applications: 5.0.0.344
* Software Platform: 5.1.0.96
* File name: 9700EastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel541_PL5.1.0.96_A5.0.0.344 _Bell_Mobility_Inc.exe
* File size: 142.56MB
While it's likely the same as on your device, at least now you have the file if you were to desire a reload of the OS.

Yeah I tried the 5.0.0.344 update, same problem. Definitely an OS issue. Didn't work with Bell or Fido as carriers on the same device. Both with Data plans.
Other people I know that purchased it are having the same issue and people on this forum as well as Crackberry and Howard Forums are experiencing the same issue. Sucks......

if you go to m.google.com/youtube it says that the device is not supported yet.
the problem is that google is being slow in supporting us with 9700/OS 5.0 IMHO
