Hi Guys
I downloaded the BB desktop software because I needed to update the BB, so I connected the Blackberry Bold to the computer. and somewhere it decided to clean my phone completely. I was NOT asked to back up. I have asked some friends and they said that usually its always asking to backup before. I'm very disappointed by the last hapennings at RIM.
Is there anyway I can recover the lost data. As we can do with computers can we do the same with BB phone?
I also have searched on my laptop some "ipd" files and found some strange MFL files but I cannot read them.
Please anyone have some ideas? Are there any blackberry experts who can help?
Thanks a lot
Jessy

You need to search your entire PC for any "*.ipd" file, normally saved in your MyDocuments folder.
If you find them, good. Don't touch them, there is nothing on your PC that can read them, they are used for restoring, so you can't open and view them first.

Hi again
Thanks a lot for your reply...
Actually it's a little bit more complicated. In my previous laptop I've found some ipd files but they are very old they've been created in "2006" and in my new laptop (the one I've lost my datas with) there is no ipd files. So is there a chance to get back to my datas without these files?
Thanks again
your reply was really helpful anyway
cheers

No backup file... no restore. Correct.
The upgrade SHOULD have made a backup.
Are you certain it upgraded the device operating system? It really would have asked or warned you what it was about to do, before upgrading.
