pulled all info off, photos etc...
It came up that there was a software update available, updated, the phone restarted.
i recieved 2 nr registration emails, then no email account.
so in setting i've gone to email accounts, put in blackbberry ID to recover email account settings, but it comes up password invaid, so i've reset the password for blackberry ID and still invaid.
is this the same password it's asking for?

Not quite complete. On newer devices/OS levels, BB ID also associates the BIS account, which contains the email account credentials. So, logging into the same BB ID on the device (or, indeed, a new device) would re-establish the connection to BIS, and thereby the stored BIS settings for email accounts.
So it may come down to this:
Exactly what is going on there may be important. Example...BB ID password reset emails are never delivered to the device itself (for security reasons). Hence, to actually accomplish the BB ID password reset, the user must be able to access the email account that is associated to the BB from other than the BB (e.g., PC/browser webmail).
Alternatively, if it has been received and processed, yet still comes up invalid, it may simply be a matter of properly entering, on the BB keyboard, the proper ATL, CAPS, SYM and other key modifier keys so as to result in the correct characters to enter into the password field.
So, more questions than answers may yet exist for this issue...
