help... i have had this problem for 2 weeks. my blackberry is only about 9 months old. i have switched the device on and off, updated software, tried the options and tried to connect, i have tried to turn on radio, what more can i do ?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
Ignoring WiFi, then when you have a strong signal from your carrier (e.g., can reliably make/receive calls and send/receive SMS), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
2) Resend Service Books
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then should contact your mobile service provider (EE, according to your profile on this site) for formal support as it is their network with which your BB is having trouble communicating.
