Re: blackberry bold 9900 HELP

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note further that "new" and "known good" are not necessarily the same thing...a new battery can certainly be subject to defect.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: blackberry bold 9900 HELP

I do not know what you are hinting at...the process I gave you is intended to 1) try and "kick start" the bb and, if that fails, 2) determine if it's your battery or your BB that is the root of the problem.

If the result is that your battery is the problem, then replacement would be in order. If the problem is your BB, then other things can be attempted to try and recover it.

But, until I know the results of what I've already given you, I am reluctant to recommend any further actions...for the results of what I've given you will determine just what I recommend.

Thanks and let us know!

PS -- please help me a little, OK? Please try to use some punctuation...with just one very long sentence in your posts, I have difficulty parsing out what you are actually trying to communicate. And my understanding you is key to my ability to help you. So please help me to help you. Thanks.

Re: blackberry bold 9900 HELP

Well, there are two sections to what I gave you. The first part (the "kick start") could result in a "did not work" result. But, the second part would usually have more information about what happened, for "did not work" would mean that neither of the two BBs involved in the test worked at all, which would be a rather odd result from that test.

Did you do that second "battery swap" test?
