Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Usually, a "reload software" message is accompanied by a numeric code. But, regardless, from a PC, you can install any OS package to a BB via this procedure:
Note that while written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
Good luck and let us know!

Hi again,
You need to be a bit more explicit. Did the OS reload work or not? You did not say...and my clairvoyance app has been malfunctioning lately. ![]()
We need to make sure that your BB is properly functioning as a BB before we start to worry about other functions (Mass Storage Mode being the one you are now talking about).
Let us know.

hi!
yeah i have downloaded the OS but i have not reloaded it into my phone yet!! i kinda sorted the problem about the mass storage thingy!! all i had to do was take out my memory card and it opened in the BB desktop!! as soon as i get it reloaded, i will let u know, just incase something else comes up!!
thanks for all your help by the way!!

OK that's fine...but I highly encourage you to work one issue at a time, starting with those that are at the core (your OS issues) and leaving those at the periphery (Mass Storage Mode) for later.
Good luck!

hey!!
I can't seem to get my device connected to the BB desktop manager. It keeps telling me that i might need to update my BB device software to correct the problem and has an update option which i obviously click on but than a message pops sayin that there are no updates currently available!!
I cant begin with the reloading because the first steps says that i need to do backup the data in my device which cannot happen if my BB desktop software cannot communicate with my device!!
please help!!
