bold 9900 no sounds

all sounds have stopped working on the phone, still vibrates but that is all, i have tried re-installing the software, but dont seem to be able to. using desktop manager on a mac.  any ideas?

Lets run a device Self test application it will let you know if its an hardware issue or a software :

 

KB16037 : Using the Self Test application on the BlackBerry smartphone.

 

 

If your device pass this Self Test then you can try reloading your device software , for mac check this  Knowledge Base :

KB19915 : How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software for mac

 

Please do a Complete Backup before reloading your device software.

hi, thanks for this, it fails on thehandsfree speaker test and hanset microphone test. is it new phone time, or can it be resurrected?

                       Its sounds like an hardware issue , but still if I were in your position I would first try a clean OS  relaod to test my luck before visiting any  repair shop .

hi there, tried reloading the software and starting again, but that didnt work. thought i would use it until the new BB10 phones come out, but wierdly monday afternoon just started working again.
