bold 9900 update failure!

Hello. I have a problem with my phone.
I have been using rogers os 7.0.585 but it had some glitches. so i decided to update the dive to rogers official release os 7.1.391 but everytime i try to upgrade but when it reaches to "Reconnecting to JVM" its stuck and my phone goes into red light loop (comes on then off, after a while it red lights again, no boot) so it cannot connect to jvm. Weird thing is i am able to downgrade back to 7.0.585 but not upgrade to any os past that. I decided to load back .585 and reactivated my service and then try to upgrade wirelessly and it found new update (same os as before, 7.1.391) but after its in it installation stage it eventually restarts and do the same thing like i am using the computer to upgrade which i'm not doing .(red light on, off then on again) so. please help me! (my phone comes from rogers) and only use rogers official updates just not this one what could be wrong i am very upset and confused right now! its like the phone is not taking in 7.1 at all. i already tried to wipe with programs (jl_cmdr, bbsak ect..) does not work. WTF!
Thank you!

Re: bold 9900 update failure!

Hi and Welcome to the Community...and apologies for the delayed reply...hopefully you already resolved this, but just in case!

Have you tried other carriers OS packages? It would not be the first time that I'd heard of a specific carriers OS package having some issue where an identical version package from another carrier does not have any issues. If you do so, be sure you delete the necessary VENDOR.XML files from your computer.

Also, have you tried a "bare bones" installation, leaving off everything that is optional? If that succeeds, then you could add the optional things one by one later on.

Good luck!
