converting .amr.rem files

i have a bb curve 8520.

How do I convert .amr.rem voicenote files to mp3?  I'm finding that a file that started out as just .amr converts easily with almost any free converter.  but an original .amr.rem file is not valid on any converter i've downloaded, even after i change the name to simply .amr

i'm a musician, and a lot of these files are song ideas recorded in the midst of life, so to speak.  it would be a shame only to have them accessible on my bb 8520.

thank you for your help.

Re: converting .amr.rem files

Hi wordbabey and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!

.REM files are encrypted files. Have you tried installing the latest version of BlackBerry® Desktop Software to transfer these files from your device?

Thanks.

Re: converting .amr.rem files

CptS,

Thanks for the speedy reply.  I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier.

Turns out my SDCard is damaged, so I couldn't transfer the files.  I tried the repair function on the phone, but it did not work.

HOWEVER, I was smarter than I thought I was, and transferred the files to my back-up terabyte drive earlier this year.  They were unencrypted at that point.  I bet that without your email, I wouldn't have remembered that.  Weird how the mind works sometimes.

Thanks so much!

Mike
