firmware update help!!!

I purchased bold 9780 in dubai unlocked through etisalat. I'm experiencing some problems and after read through some topics I learned some problems get corrected thru reinstall or update of firmare. So using bb desktop software I get message saying you have to activate ur service book wirelessly o something of sort. I wanna know what it means and if I continue will my bb remain unlocked?

To resend your service books, press the Setup icon on your homescreen. Click Email Setup and choose the email account you have set up. Login to your email account and press Help near the bottom. Once there, press your menu key and select Send Service Books. This will not affect your phone being unlocked.
