firmware update

at the Verison store they mentioned that these two problems might be solvable by installing a new firmware:

1) shutting off issue

2) battery usage was very rampent 3G searching for the best connection using power too much)

But i have checked and i have 4.6.0.167 according to the application loader.

is this the same as the "firmware" upgrade?

it seems different, as it says on the application loader this is "software"

Re: firmware update

On the BB, In Options > About, compare the results to what your carrier publishes on their device OS release page:

"Firmware" and "Device OS" and "Device Software" are often used interchangeably...but they all refer to the same thing...the base OS that runs the BB.

Good luck and let us know!
