my BB Bold 9900 will not recognize my media card. When I go to Options and check Storage, it states "Media Card is not presently inserted in the device" even though it is. My old Torch recognizes the card with no problem however. I've tried a few cards and the same thing; it won't even ackowledge that a card has been inserted. Can someone please offer some advice on this? thanks.

no, it's not an option because it says its not inserted but it is.

could be a defective slot

did you try removing the battery and see if that helps

well, the only way to insert the card is to remove the battery first, unlike the Torch where the slot is in a different location.

Can you try a different media card IN the 9900?

yes, already did but the same thing.

He says he tried a few cards. Sounds like a defective card slot.

If the device is under warranty I'd get it replaced. If not, the card slot can be replaced but if you can't do it yourself then the cost of replacement could make it not worth it.

Thanks to all. I agree, it seems like a hardware issue but with BB one never knows. my son has an older Bold with the same problem.
