need to change ID verification but phone won't let me

My blackberry is 'tied' to a blackberry ID that has an expired e-mail address.  The phone won't let me change it.  Any suggestions?

Thankyou for the info.  I have tried to change the ID username on the screen but there is no 'save' option that comes up when I use the blackberry menu key.  It reverts to the message "enter the username associated with this smartphone".  Do you have any other suggestions?

 

I have tried editing from the previous screen (Device/Blackberry ID) but it goes straight to "Accessing Account information" and won't let me edit that screen either.

Ahhh...that message means you are trying to actually log into a different BBID than was originally associated to the device. This is as opposed to changing the registered email address for that same BBID (as that KB documents how to do). If you want to truly change the associated BBID, you have no choice but to wipe the device to do so. Once a BB is associated to a BBID account, only a wipe can change it.
