one line display in message box

I just upgraded my BB to 9930, and all messages are now shown in 2 lines (sender name in the 1st line and the msg title in the 2nd line).  How can I bring back the "one line" display format?  Someone told me that it is no longer available in OS 7.  Can't be true, right?

Re: one line display in message box

Wow, I know RIMM has gotten do bad, but that is totally ridiculous. Now I only see 6 messages at a time. Most people who still use BBs are heavy email users... and this is unacceptable. I swear if RIMM does not fix this soon, I'm getting rid of this POS and never touching another BB again.

Btw, does anyone know how I can get in touch with RIMM support directly? Their "support" is now reduced to user-run "support forums." What a joke.

Wow. So kind. You enjoy insulting people you don't even know who are trying to help you? I bet you're a joy to around.

Your official "tech support" is provided by your mobile provider... Verizon. You pay them for it, it's part of your contract. Call Verizon, and any issue they can't resolve, you need to ask to have escalated to RIM level tech support. And just as an aside, I'd put any one of the volunteer user posters I know personally on this forum up against any minimum wage punk or off-shore support tech you'll get on the phone from Verizon.

Good luck.

Re: one line display in message box

Ok, not sure why you are taking my comment personally. My "insult" wasn't meant for you, but rather directed at RIMM. I actually do appreciate your confirmation re: 1-line display format. Otherwise, I would have been Google all night looking through endless Blackberry related forums.

Btw, I did contact Verizon, and the rep had no idea what I was talking about and told me to contact RIMM directly on any OS issues. Ha!

Re: one line display in message box

@jkwok, this is a user-to-user support forum and always has been. RIM never resorted to anything, it's always been in this format, just like RIM issues have always been dealt with the carrier because the carrier chooses the OS format and locks certain OS features and alters it as it sees fit.

If you need to contact RIM directly, please check out www.blackberry.com/contact for more information.

Understood, jkwok.

If your Verizon tech support does not suggest the escalation to RIM level tech support, ask for or demand it. They know you cannot connect with RIM tech support directly and that your call to them must be escalated by them.
