sim not allowed #mm 3,

I am hoping someone can help me as i have a very serious problem.

i bought myself the blackberry Z10 in Dubai while on holiday. i bought it at Dubai Mall in a shop called Eros digital.

i came back to south africa and got an mtn sim card for it. from day one the phone would kick out my sim card. it would show the sim card icon in the top right hand corner with an exclamation martk.

i would need to reboot the phone to get it to work. this hapens every 2 or 3 mintues now.

i tried to use a different sim card but the same thing happened.

i took it to Blackberry at vodaworld and Berry fix but both say they cant fix it.

someone told me its network locked, so a gjuy from Blackberry said he could help unlock it, when i took it in he told me it wasnt locked.

the erro message i get when the sim gets kicked out is "sim not allowed #mm3"

can anyone tell me what this mean and how i can fix it aotherwise i wasted all this money buying a phone that doesnt work and i wont be going back to Dubai anytime soon.

Re: sim not allowed #mm 3,

Your BlackBerry is locked. Try using another SIM.

Go to your SIM Card Options, follow these steps:

BlackBerry® 6 to 7.1

1. On the Home screen or in a folder, select “Options”
2. Select “Device” followed by “Advanced System Settings”
3. Select “SIM Card”

4. Type MEPD

BlackBerry® Device Software 4 to 5

1. On the Home screen or in a folder, select “Options”
2. Select “Advanced Option” followed by “SIM Card”
3. Type MEPD

And tell me if they are all Disabled.

Good luck!

Re: sim not allowed #mm 3,

Hey, I had the same problem as the original poster, and I tried what you said. They are all disabled. What should I do?
