hi all i tried to do a software update via the handset it downloaded the update and started to install it but its stuck it starts backing up my data gets to 13% social feeds and does nothing after that.
it says backing up data then two bars top one is at 0% saying social feeds at the left and bottom bar is at 13% and thats it tried pulling the battery a couple of times
Not on that screen I think, you mentioned you tried pulling the battery earlier? You'd want to do so while it's connected to the PC via USB, and desktop manager is open.
If your phone is still okay, the desktop manager should "intercept" the start-up process and prompt you to update.
